Wood figure of Buddha

Seated in virasana on a high base,  his right hand lowered in bhumisparshamudra – the gesture “ for the earth to witness". The left resting on his lab, wearing samghati, his face with serene expression, arched eyebrows above incised eyes, smiling  lips, elongated earlobes, curled hair dress  which is surmounted by a flame. Ears  incomplete. Beautiful patina with black lacquer and gilding.  Early inscription on base.
